Apollo Rowing is pleased to sponsor Salem's first rowing regatta. The regatta is run by the New England Collegiate Rowing League (www.necrl.com) and will take place on Halloween day! Salem, Massachusetts is home to a long coast line and offers several inlets that provide flat water rowing. The race will be held along the inlet behind the Beverly Bridge. The water is tidal and requires the races to be held within 2 hours of high tide so the races will start in the morning. Feel free to watch the racing from the route 1A Beverly bridge or along the shore near the Kernwood Country Club. Apollo Rowing is providing awards for the top teams. Apollo offers a FREE single for Stroke for Sight winner - 07.09.2009 Register yourself or your rowing club to participate in Rose Charities’ Stroke for Sight fundraising campaign to raise funds to support free eye clinics and sight restoration surgery in developing countries. Apollo Rowing, Rose Charities’ Stroke for Sight sponsor, will donate an Apollo single rowing shell to the individual or team that raises the most funds for the Stoke for Sight - 2009 campaign. Apollo Rowing partners with Rose Charities - 05.01.2009 Rose Charities funds medical and educational services to the poor in several developing countries including Cambodia, Kenya and Sri Lanka as well as the Nez-Pearce Tribe in Oregon. A donation of $24 can restore sight to a blind person and $100 can repair a cleft palate. Apollo Rowing and Rose Charities are working together to raise donations through the rowing community to help these disadvantaged people.
